WHAT'S IN MY BEER REVIEW?
When I review a beer, I not only want to tell you how it tastes, I want you to know how it smells and what it looks like. There are different styles, different colors, different aroma's and certainly different flavors. What I will focus on will be what I call the S.A.T.'s of beer or the Sight, Aroma and Taste.
Sight: What does the beer look like? What color is it? What color is the head and how long does it last? I will pour every beer the same way to judge the head. I will pour it straight up in a glass until half way and then tip the glass to pour the rest.
Aroma: What does the beer smell like? What aroma's of potential flavor can we smell? Did you know that you should let your beer warm up a little bit in order to get all of the aroma's.
Taste: What does it taste like? What flavors can we taste? What after taste do we get? Does it have a flavor to match it's style?
I will also let you know what foods the beer can be paired with and a little history surrounding the beer and it's brewery. I have also been known to drop in a little one of my own stories now and then. I will also travel to bars, brew pubs, restaurants and any place that sells beer to see what they have on tap and to put one beer to the test.
When it is all said and done, I will rate the beer from 5 to 1 on the "Meister Meter". Five will be outstanding and 1 will be skunk.
